Prayer

Prayer, something for everyone, that can be done anywhere, at any time. You can pray out loud or in silence; some may even write their prayers. There is no right way to do it and there is no wrong way. It can be done from a religious point of view or not. It is a good way to focus on your thoughts and emotions and also a way to decipher what you are actually wanting. Whether it’s to change your state of mind or to reach a goal, having these thoughts and focusing on them - is a great way to keep yourself (or move yourself) on(to) the right path.

So what exactly can you pray about? Honestly, anything. Whatever you’re feeling - thinking - you can pray. If you have physical pains, you can pray. If someone else needs extra help, pray for them. If you’re lost and need guidance, pray. There have been times in my life where I need that “sign”. What am I supposed to do? I ask for help. But sometimes I need to just be more specific - such as, “I need a clear sign on (this situation)”. I am patient for an answer and trust what it is and when I will receive it. There is a bit more to some prayers than just asking for help. If you’re asking for healing - believe that you will be healed. You can ask, but to receive, you must believe. Now this doesn’t mean that you will get everything you want, but you are setting yourself up for receiving everything you’ll need.

Prayer is so beautiful. You can do it anytime you need. First thing I like to do when I wake up in the morning is to just Thank God for another day to live. Life is precious and short, so everyday is a gift. I also personally talk to God (or pray) throughout the day. When something great happens, I thank Him or let Him know. When I am struggling, I let Him know. I may even ask for help with a situation or to help me get through it. I like to pray before doing something big or important - such as before a big competition. This way I’m focused on what I want and focused on what I need to do to obtain my goal.

Another thing about prayer is you can do it anywhere. From sitting in the silence of nature to being in a crowd full of people, you can pray. You can close your eyes and just let your prayer take you elsewhere - let yourself be free from where you are. This can become a type of “safe place” for yourself. Where you are able to be anywhere and use your prayer/thoughts to bring you back to your path. To bring you back from any unwanted emotional state. You can also pray while being in a good emotional state. You may be sitting out in nature (or even around others) and want to use it to help give thanks to what you have and to all the good things coming.

For other views, prayer may just be a focused thought or mindful manifestation. Or maybe it’s simply talking to yourself and getting your mind flowing. It’s a great tool for figuring out what steps you need to take - if any at all. A way to get your mind right and then to start working on the physical stuff. It’s a very calm way of figuring out what you want and how you're going to do it.
