A mono-crop (or monoculture) is the production of one thing at the exclusion of all other things.

A permaculture is self-regenerating system that is created through the synergy of a wide array of inputs whose outputs further enhance the inputs.

These are terms used in agriculture and I've found them to be helpful in describing the different ways to build your life.

A mono-crop life is the pursuit of one thing at the exclusion of all other things. Maybe that's money; maybe that's athletics; maybe that's family. There's nothing inherently wrong with a mono-crop, but just as in farming: the production of one crop at the exclusion of others (thinks rows and rows of corn) may yield a large amount of that one thing in the short-term, but ultimately a lot of work must be done to support a system that is only supportive of one thing. There may be a lot of time, energy, and resources spent just to be able to focus on that one thing. Just like there's usually a reliance on fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and GMOs to support a monoculture in farming.

On the other hand, a permaculture life is the pursuit of all the many different things you may feel called to pursue in such a way that every thing is supported by and enhances everything else. For example, finding a way to blend my passions of strength training, holistic lifestyle coaching, business, finance, music, and food production into one synergistic system. This process may take a lot longer to establish and it may be much longer before you receive any of the fruits or your labor, but once the systems are set in place everything can essentially sustain itself with minimal input from you.

In other words, once you do the work to put the necessary systems into place, all you have to do is show up and do the work you feel called to do and let the synergistic effects of the system build and nurture itself.

What if you can create a life that just keeps getting better without you having to try so hard to hold all the pieces together?

This is what I get to teach my 1-on-1 clients and what I'd love to teach you if you're ready for it and would like my support.

Let me break this down for you the best way I know how.

What is the definition of a hologram?

The whole contains all the pieces and all the pieces contain the whole.

What is GOD/The Universe?

All of it -- the whole.

What are you?

A piece of the whole.

If the Universe is all of it then by definition there can be nothing outside/separate from the Universe as that would imply that the Universe isn't all of it.

You are not separate from the Universe because the Universe is all of it -- including you.

You are a unique piece of the Universe.

And because the Universe is all one infinite, eternal, entirety and you are a piece of that one infinite, eternal, entirety; you also contain the whole infinite, eternal, entirety.

You are a piece of the whole and the whole is present in all the pieces.

The Universe is a hologram: the whole contains the parts and the parts contain the whole.

The microcosm is the macrocosm.

The Universe is you and you are the Universe.

GOD is you and you are GOD.

As Rumi says, "You are not a drop in the ocean, you are the ocean in a drop."

Now that we've cleared that up, the main point I want to bring up today is that all the parts of you are valid because all the parts contain and are a part of the whole thing -- your whole being.

So often we pressure and restrict ourselves to only show up in certain ways, deeming other parts of ourselves as invalid or unworthy of expression because they're undesirable relative to what we've come to believe is desirable.

This creates a split of the self into many different selves --- those worthy of expression and those that are not.

The unexpressed parts of yourself become your shadow and begin to act subconsciously in ways that cause you to be confronted with those parts of yourself through the many different circumstances and relationships you find yourself in that usually bring about pain and suffering in one form or another; although the ego like to separate itself and blame outside (seemingly separate) sources for your misfortunes.

Just because you reject something doesn't mean it goes away. In fact, the mere act of rejection is a declaration that there is something that exists that needs to be rejected.

Because we are all the parts and all the parts are us, the only way to become all that we have the potential to be is to come to know, accept, and express all the parts of ourselves as one.

This is what it means to live authentically and in alignment with yourself.

When I came to this realization I finally started giving myself permission to show up exactly how I am and express all the different parts of myself as it felt natural to do.

This is why I've come to gravitate towards many different outlets of expression, some even seeming to contradict one another.

I enjoy the part of myself that shows up and gets the job done while also honoring the part of myself that wants to quit everything and go live uninterrupted in the wilderness.

I enjoy elaborate discussions using poetic language about deep metaphysical topics while also talking real straight and simple about practical matters.

I enjoy moving deeper and deeper into love and unity while also creating space to express the parts of myself that have fun objectifying, conquering, and basking in materialism.

I enjoy the discipline and rigors of business and athletics while also allowing for the grace and spontaneity of an artist.

I have the capacity to destroy just as much as I can create.

I am the light and the dark. I am all of it while also being none of it.

The discernment doesn't come in deciding which parts of yourself to keep and which parts to get rid of. The discernment comes in knowing that from the infinity of possibilities, you get to choose which parts of yourself are appropriate to express in any given circumstance/relationship.

There's no need to get overly attached to one version of yourself. Be who you are and be who you need to be to be who you want to be.

Happy Dreaming,

With love,

Nathan

If you can think it, it exists as a potential at some level. And the more you think about something, the more likely it is to become real.

If you learn how to become aware of your thoughts and become aware of the thoughts behind your thoughts (subconscious mind), you see what patterns of thought are helping you and what patterns of thought are holding you back. Once you're able to objectively see the thoughts, you gain the power to change them.

The challenge with this kind of work is that most of our deepest held beliefs about ourselves, God, and the world were programmed into us within the first seven years of life, before we had the capacity to analyze and question those beliefs. This is why "positive thinking" alone doesn't work unless you get to the root of thought pattern/belief.

For example, if I notice that I always seem to fall on my face right when I'm starting to achieve some success in my life, I may come to the realization that I have a tendency to self-sabotage. But just telling myself to stop self-sabotaging won't work if there's an even deeper belief that I am unworthy because I was programmed to believe that I was born a sinner and that God will only love me if I behave a certain way.

You can see how this work can be quite deep and revealing.

The additional layer to this is that a lot of these unprocessed beliefs and emotions accompanying those beliefs get stored in the body and in our energetic field. And so just thinking our way out of it often doesn't penetrate deeply enough to have a lasting effect.

But don't worry, there is hope. Just by being aware of how these things work and recognizing that the same power that may be working against you can be used to create the life of your dreams.

A simple practice is learning how to flip your thoughts. If you become aware of a thought pattern that is no longer serving you, try to flip it around to one that will -- knowing that just as much as there's a potential for things not to go your way, so too is there the potential for things to go exactly how you want them to.

This is real LIFE Magick.

As you can imagine, this work can be very personal and challenging to do on your own since you've been living with yourself your whole life.
